Consignment Program
How do I apply?
Fill out the survey here to get the ball rolling!
How long does it take to hear back?
Right now, Beyond the Covers is a one-woman show. I appreciate your patience with me! My intent is to respond to every application within a few days just to let you know I've received it, and you should get my decision within a few weeks. During busy seasons, it may take a little longer, but I will do my best to respond promptly.
I would love to accept everyone who applies, but my mobile bookshop has limited shelf space available. Even if I am unable to accept your book right away, I will still let you know within a few weeks - and I will also keep your file open and periodically review it with the shop’s current inventory requirements in mind.
What are your consignment terms?
Authors keep 70% of each sale, and Beyond the Covers keeps 30% to cover credit card fees and operational expenses. I'll also handle all sales tax and any storewide promotions I choose to run (for example, loyalty discounts or special sales). Titles are kept for up to 6 months before reassessing our needs. Full details are provided once your application is accepted.
Do you offer online ordering?
At this time, I have outsourced all online ordering to my Bookshop.org storefront.
I do plan to offer online ordering with local pickup options in the future, but at this time I do not have the bandwidth to manage inventory for online orders and shipping myself.
Do you accept digital or audiobooks?
At this time, I am only able to accept physical copies for my store.
I do however have active Bookshop.org and Libro.fm affiliate accounts and I feature ebooks and audiobooks there through curated book lists. There is no fee for this featured content, it is just free promotion for your books, if they match the theme!
Do you accept indie authors?
Absolutely! I love supporting indie authors and small presses, and my consignment program is designed to allow me to best use the limited bookmobile space to highlight creators outside traditional publishing.
