From familiar names to exciting debuts, this week has a ton to be excited about!
This week in adult fiction, we've got Veronica Roth's Seek the Traitor's Son, a dystopian romance about a soldier caught in a prophecy forced to compete against her rival to determine which of them will lead their people to victory. It's been getting rave reviews and I'm excited to see if it lives up to the hype.
I'm also super excited for the next installation in Shannon Chakraborty's incredible Amina al-Sirafi Adventures series, The Tapestry of Fate. This is book two in the series that follows a badass lady pirate who is dragged out of retirement for one last job. It's got djinn, sea creatures, magic, monsters, and a female main character that I can actually relate to (one with a bad back and aching knees). I can't wait to see what she gets up to next.
My next pick is also a returning book in a series, Matt Dinniman's Parade of Horribles. If you haven't heard of Dungeon Crawler Carl yet, I don't know how to help you, except to say just go find a copy and read it immediately. It won't take you long to catch up to this relese, the highly anticipated book 8 in the series.
You may already know I have a weird obsession with the Jersey Shore, and if you didn't know that about me, now you do. I also have recently been enjoying a lot of weird monster romances and you might be wondering why I'm just telling you random unrelated and embarrassing facts about myself, until you read the description for my next pick: Gloria Duke's There's Something Fishy About My Boyfriend, a rom-com with the tagline "Gym. Tan. Merman." I literally CANNOT wait.
