May 17 | Beyond the Covers is Popping Up at Crushed I.C.E.
Share
On May 17th, I'm bringing my favorite banned books and rebel reads to Crushed I.C.E. - a benefit concert for FIEL Houston, hosted by The Coalition Houston in partnership with Third Ward Cultural District, Kiss the Jewel, and Stark Nova.
The “Crushed I.C.E” benefit show is a fundraising event aimed at bringing attention and support to those affected by I.C.E., with a portion of the night's proceeds going to FIEL Houston.
FIEL is an immigrant-led civil rights organization dedicated to advocating for fair laws for immigrant youth and their families. They work to ensure access to higher education for all individuals, regardless of immigration status, and to promote justice for our community.
There will be live music, poetry, guest speakers, vendors (like yours truly) and voter registration available.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance or at the door. We are looking to provide a safe space for the public to voice their thoughts and concerns as well as stand in unity with the community. Keep an eye on @thecoalitionhouston for updates and we hope to see you there!
Where: “The Garage” at 2509 Alabama 2509 Alabama St., Houston TX 77004
When: May 17th, 5 - 10 PM
Tickets: $5 at the door or in advance at thecohou.com
Can't make it to the event?
You can still support us by shopping online. From May 10 - 17th, I will donate 10% of the profit from the purchase of any book from these four collections to FIEL Houston.*
