We Made It! Now for the fun part... 🚧
It took 9 days, but the Bookmobile and I made it home! Thank you so much to everyone who sent support and encouragement while we were on the road, it truly meant the world to me.
The past few weeks have not been without their challenges, but I'm so incredibly excited to be past the "hard part" and on to the renovation and planning!Â

The Robin's Nest
Everyone has been asking if she has a name yet, and I came up with one on the road that I think is perfect: The Robin's Nest.Â
- She's a Blue Bird, and Robin's eggs are blue.Â
- She's red, and one of my favorite nursery rhymes was "Little Robin Redbreast"
- My mom's name was Robin, and she once had a dream about me running my own book cart at the beach on weekends.
- I used my mom's "Nest Egg" that she left to me to win this bus
She was born this way
One of the coolest discoveries from the road was a plaque near the entry that reads "This Vehicle Custom Designed and Built for Marengo Library System by Ohio Bus Sales, Inc. Canton Ohio, July 1994"

That means this bus was not a converted school bus, as I originally thought, but was actually custom built as a library bookmobile. And that craftsmanship and thoughtful design really shines through now that I'm getting to know her a little better. So, a big thank you to these guys, who apparently are responsible for her design and build out.Â

How you can help
If you'd like to help with renovations, I've put together a registry wish list with everything from new inventory to fuel to POS hardware upgrades.Â
Another great way to support me is to shop with me this week! I've put together some fun new reading lists on my Bookshop.org home page, if you'd like a recommendation!
If you're interested in volunteering to help with renovations, cleaning, stocking, donating inventory, or more - please reach out, I'd love to hear from you! You can email me at kitty@beyondthecovers.com, or use my Contact page!
And the best (free!) way to help me is by sharing my story with people you think will be interested, my links with friends who love to read, and reposting, liking, commenting, and sharing my social media posts are great free ways to help keep my shop going while we're growing!Â
Thank you all again so much for your support and love!
